Development Process of Plastic Extruder

Early application

The extruder originated in the 18th century. The manual piston extruder made by the JosehBramah of England in 1795 for the manufacture of seamless lead pipes is considered to be the world's top extruder. Since then, in the first 50 years of the 19th century, extruders were basically only used in the production of lead pipes, the processing of macaroni and other foods, and the brick and ceramic industries.

Widely used

In the development process as a manufacturing method, the first time it has been clearly described that R.Brooman applied in 1845 for the production of Gutebo glue wire with an extruder. H.Bewlgy of Gutpo subsequently improved the extruder and used it in 1851 to coat the copper wire of the first submarine cable between Dover and Calais. Over the next 25 years, the extrusion method 13 became more important and the manual extruder was gradually replaced by an electrically operated extruder. The initial mechanically operated ram extruder produced thousands of kilometers of insulated wires and cables, thus firmly establishing the status of extrusion for the production of cables. The early production of cable extruders, whether manual, mechanical or hydraulic, are all plunger type. In this production process, the plunger presses the hot gutta-pert glue into the mouth of the copper wire, and the gutta-pert glue is extruded from the mouth of the die, thus covering the copper wire to form an insulating layer.
